President Siljanovska Davkova meets Hungarian Ambassador Klein

Skopje, 18 June 2024 (MIA) – President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova held Tuesday a meeting with Hungarian Ambassador András Klein.

The intensive political dialogue was welcomed in the meeting at which readiness was voiced to further boost the cooperation between the two countries at bilateral and multilateral plan, the President’s office said. 

The President thanked Hungary for its principled and continued support as a vocal supporter of the Macedonian European integration, which is the country’s strategic and national interest and welcomed the priorities of Hungary’s EU presidency as regards the enlargement policy, said the press release.

While exchanging information over the Macedonian EU integration process, the President emphasized the expectations that the EU accession process will be justly evaluated based on the Copenhagen criteria. 

The interlocutors also discussed cooperation in the sphere of education, science, defense and transport, said the President’s office adding that she voiced hope the ongoing cooperation between state and higher education institutions between the two countries will further strengthen.

Ways to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries and increase trade were discussed in the meeting.
