Skopje, 29 May 2024 (MIA) – President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova met Wednesday with the Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, the President’s office said.
“During the meeting, the first since assuming office, President Siljanovska Davkova was briefed on the current activities of the Army in fulfilling its tasks of protecting territorial integrity and independence, readiness to fulfil the national and international obligations, contribution to collective self-defence, international operations and the protection of broader national interests,” reads the press release.
President Siljanovska Davkova expressed her confidence that the Macedonian Army will continue with the same commitment to fulfil its constitutional duty to protect our territorial integrity and independence, and that the members of the Army will continue to be an example of professionalism, discipline and dedication, as befits a NATO member state.
President Siljanovska Davkova underscored her commitment, as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to always support the further equipping and modernization of the Army and the improvement of the living and working conditions for its members.
