President Siljanovska Davkova completes Security Council's composition with three new members

Skopje, 16 September 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova has appointed Malinka Ristevska Jordanova, expert on Euro-integrations, Xhevdet Hajredini, former Finance Minister, and Vladimir Spiridonov, expert on climate change, as new members to the Security Council. The appointment of the three new members completes the composition of the Security Council of the Republic of North Macedonia, the President's Office said in a press release on Monday.

President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova is also the President of the Security Council.

Security Council members include Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski, Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski, as well as Malinka Ristevska Jordanova, Xhevdet Hajredini, and Vladimir Spiridonov, who the President appointed today in accordance with her constitutional competences.

The Security Council is the highest advisory body in the Republic of North Macedonia which discusses issues related to the country's security and defense, and gives proposals to the Parliament and Government.

The work of the Security Council of the Republic of North Macedonia, the manner of exercising the rights and duties of its members, convening and holding sessions, implementing the positions taken, initiatives taken, opinions and proposals given, informing about its work, as well as other issues related to its organization and mode of work, are defined by the Rules of Procedure of the Security Council of the Republic of North Macedonia.

Security Council meetings are closed. Open sessions are held only in certain cases by decision of the Security Council President. ssh/nn/
