President Siljanovska Davkova addresses Youth Council constitutive session

Skopje, 18 November 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova addressed Monday the Youth Council constitutive session, a periodical working body that reviews and analyzes issues related to young people, youth policies and initiatives arising from the youth's needs, towards enhancing their position in society.

Siljanovska Davkova assessed that the council opens another door for young people, as an opportunity to hear their opinions, critiques, and advice. Emphasizing the expertise and competency of its members, she stated that the council has human and creative potential to contribute to the creation of youth policies through its activities, ideas, and proposals, the President's Office said in a press release.

The President also pointed out the need of taking care of young people and making the country a decent place for living, as well as the necessity of stopping youth exodus by fighting the battle of the smartest and most educated right here, while adding "we influence the future only by managing the present. Let's shape the present for young people".

She encouraged Youth Council members to openly discuss issues and challenges present in society, find creative solutions, and offer recommendations for overcoming them.

The constitutive session adopted the Rules of Procedures and discussed future events and activities.

Youth Council president Lina Rangelova said she expects the council to play a vital role and that they will jointly create a space for turning ideas into reality. The members expressed gratitude for the opportunity, honor, and trust to be part of the council, as well as preparedness to contribute to the creation of quality youth policies.
