President Pendarovski meets with Macedonian Olympic taekwondo runner-up Dejan Georgievski
Skopje, 18 August 2021 (MIA) – President Stevo Pendarovski met with Dejan Georgievski, who won the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
President Pendarovski congratulated Georgievski on his extraordinary achievement, saying that his success has brought fame and joy to the country, representing an act that brought everyone together, his office said in a press release.
“On behalf of our people, thank you for making us proud and confirming that every goal can be achieved through hard work, perseverance, professionalism and dedication. You are an example for all Macedonian athletes, that they too can win world sporting thrones, and I hope the youth will follow your example,” President Pendarovski said at the meeting.
The President is hopeful that this is just the start of great successes, for Dejan Georgievski, and for this sport in our country. He assures that he will always support Macedonian athletes.
Dejan Georgievski won the silver medal in taekwondo at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the country’s biggest achievement ever at the Olympics since the declaration of independence. dk/ba/
