President Pendarovski meets OSCE Parliamentary Assembly delegation
Skopje, 14 November 2022 (MIA) – President Stevo Pendarovski met Monday with OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President Margareta Cederfelt and Secretary General Roberto Montella. Talks focused on North Macedonia’s 2023 OSCE Chairpersonship and possibilities to deepen cooperation with the international organization. Interlocutors also exchanged views on ongoing preparations in terms of taking over the OSCE Chairpersonship, as well as the priorities of the Macedonian Chairpersonship, the President’s office said in a press release. President Pendarovski underlined that given the changed security circumstances, the country will focus on restoring stability by restoring dialogue and trust, adding that energy security, environmental issues, respect for human rights and good governance, as well as youth policies, will be part of the priority tasks of the country’s chairpersonship. Pendarovski extended gratitude for the overall support of the Parliamentary Assembly, pointing out that North Macedonia will be open for any constructive proposals aimed at promoting OSCE’s role during the country’s chairpersonship, voicing readiness for intensive communication, coordination and strengthening joint activities. Pendarovski welcomed the role of the OSCE and stressed that North Macedonia highly appreciates the organization’s efforts in ensuring the stability, democratization and socio-economic development of the region, as well as nurturing and strengthening the inter-parliamentary dialogue.
