President Pendarovski meets Jordan's King Abdullah II in New York
- President Stevo Pendarovski met on Tuesday with his Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
Skopje, 19 September 2023 (MIA) – President Stevo Pendarovski met on Tuesday with his Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
“They underscored that the bilateral ties between the two countries are based on mutual respect and understanding, as well as good cooperation in international organizations and institutions, with special emphasis on the UN,” the President’s Office said in a press release.
President Pendarovski thanked for the accreditation of five of our universities in Jordan that enabled Macedonian students to continue their education in Jordan and noted that higher education is a key component for the future development and progress of both societies.
The interlocutors also discussed the common goals for stability, security and prosperity of the region of the Balkans and the Middle East, where North Macedonia and Jordan have a flourishing ethnic diversity and share the same policy of tolerance, coexistence and respect, building societies that nurture ethnic and religious diversity.
“President Pendarovski and Jordan's King Abdullah II shared views on current developments in the Balkans and the Middle East as well as on the commitment and contribution of the two countries in achieving sustainable peace and stability in both regions, with President Pendarovski underscoring that the Macedonian positions are harmonized within the EU and in coordination with the NATO partner countries,” reads the press release.
