Skopje, 4 January 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia’s President Stevo Pendarovski held Tuesday a phone call with Sir Stuart Peach, the UK’s Special Envoy to the Western Balkans. Pendarovski and Peach exchanged views on current security challenges in the region, as well as the harmful consequences of high corruption and organized crime on the region’s economic and democratic development. Congratulating Peach on his new post, Pendarovski said the appointment of a Special Envoy to the Western Balkans by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson clearly affirms the United Kingdom’s commitment to maintaining stability and prosperity in the region, the President’s Office said in a press release. The UK’s Special Envoy Peach announced a visit to North Macedonia soon.
