Preconditions for safe, quick and credible census have been met, says Justice Minister Marichikj
Shtip, 2 September 2021 (MIA) – Census workers are prepared and they have the appropriate equipment to conduct the census, set to start on Sunday, September 5, Minister of Justice Bojan Marichikj told a press conference at the Faculty of Law at the Goce Delchev University in Shtip.
“I expect the census to launch on Sunday morning and end September 30, collecting all the necessary information. There are no legal, technical or logistical obstacles for the start of the census. It’s true that additional spare census takers are being taken on in certain areas. The government has also made available contract workers from state institutions to assist wherever it's necessary,” Marichikj said.
He underlined that health protocols for the census have been made produced by Ministry of Health and the Commission for Infectious Diseases.
“So all preconditions for a safe, quick and credible census, the first one in 20 years, have been met,” the Minister added.
