Skopje, 6 July 2022 (MIA) - The person pointed out by VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski as having attempted to assassinate him has been taken into police custody, the Interior Ministry told MIA without providing further details. On Wednesday evening, Mickoski on Facebook posted a photo showing several people writing that one of them has tried to kill him. "This is the man who should have killed me tonight. I demand that he is immediately arrested by the police," Mickoski wrote. The VMRO-DPMNE leader is taking part in today's protest march against the French proposal held from the government, the Foreign Ministry and in front of Parliament. In downtown Skopje near the Old Bazaar, a standoff occurred between the protesters and a group of people before the police intervened. Witnesses say that gunshots were heard.
