Skopje, 11 June 2025 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Wednesday he regrets SDSM leader Venko Filipche saying in Athens yesterday that the country is run by an authoritarian government.
"On the contrary, I think freedom in society, and media as well, over the past year has been at its highest. Maybe you should ask them what parameters he used to come to this conclusion. I do not believe this is so, even if you look at the reports from renowned international institutions. Reporters Without Borders also says we are making progress in this regard. We are going backwards when in comes to fake news and attempts to spin certain truths," PM Mickoski told reporters.
He said that the opposition leader's statements are poor PR and completely wrong.
"Any statement coming from a person that lacks credibility comes back as a boomerang. This is not only poor PR for him, but it is completely wrong as well," noted Mickoski.
