PM Petkov: Skopje visit to prove that good neighborliness is fundamental principle
Sofia, 7 January 2022 (MIA) – Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov has confirmed he will visit North Macedonia on January 18 at a Q&A session in Bulgarian Parliament, MIA’s Sofia correspondent reports.
He said good neighborliness is a crucial principle in the relations between Bulgaria and North Macedonia.
Bulgaria’s position on the negotiating process with North Macedonia, Petkov stated, is maintained as agreed by the ruling coalition parties. According to him, Sofia is upgrading the same position with five separate working groups tasked with improving the relations.
“By organizing talks on Jan. 18, we are demonstrating that good neighborliness is the fundamental principle of our relations with the Republic of North Macedonia. I hope our government will show the difference between the good plans and achieved results,” PM Petkov said responding to MP’s question in Parliament.
