Skopje, 3 April 2025 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Thursday the Public Prosecutor's Office (PPO) would address the investigation on the Kochani nightclub fire in the coming period and noted that he has never condemned anyone in his statements.
DUI MP Blerim Bexheti said during opposition questions in Parliament that the main culprits remain untouchable, while PM Mickoski already released the names of the suspects instead of the prosecutor doing this.
"The Government says justice will be served but real justice should come from the judiciary and not political press conferences. How can the Government say that the investigation is independent when you, the PM, say the documents for the facility were falsified even before the court reached a decision?" asked Bexheti.
PM Mickoski said the investigation is ongoing and expects the PPO to present new details while rejecting claims regarding his influence on the proceedings.
"The investigation is ongoing, I suppose new elements will or will not come up, but the PPO will address the case in the coming period. I have never said what you claim I did, to condemn anyone ahead of time, although my political party and me personally know what it means to be a victim of political qualifications. We felt that over the past 7-8 years and we would not want to see this happen to anyone else, because our rule is: don't do unto others what you don't want done unto you," said Mickoski and added that the falsified license exists in the Ministry of Economy.
The PM said that throughout the period since 2008, which is now being investigated, DUI-nominated officials headed the Ministry of Economy.
"I would not add more to this. Let's wait and see, and afterward we can say whether it was selective or not. But please do not unleash accusations or insinuate, as you have been doing in continuity," said Mickoski.
