PM Mickoski meets Trump’s special missions envoy Richard Grenell

Skopje, 20 January 2025 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, who is on a working visit to the United States and set to attend the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th US president, met Monday with Richard Grenell, Trump’s presidential envoy for special missions.
“I met with Richard Grenell, the former head of national intelligence, and now the new presidential envoy for special missions and policy. We spoke about current developments, the challenges we face as a country and our realization of strategic interests related to our membership in the European Union,” Mickoski wrote in a post on his official Facebook page.
In the post, Mickoski added that he asked for greater engagement from the US in regard to the country’s EU membership, as well as making use of economic opportunities.
Mickoski will attend Trump’s inauguration in Washington alongside Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski, First Deputy PM and Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Izet Mexhiti, and Deputy Minister of European Affairs, Viktorija Trajkov.
