PM Kovachevski to head Government delegation at first Intergovernmental Conference in Brussels
Skopje, 18 July 2022 (MIA) – Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski will head the official Government delegation that is set to take part in the first Intergovernmental Conference (IGC) at the Council of the European Union in Brussels on Tuesday. This IGC is of historic significance for North Macedonia because it marks the start of the country’s negotiations for full-fledged EU membership, the Government said in a press release. According to the agenda, PM Kovachevski and Albanian counterpart Edi Rama are scheduled to meet with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The country’s screening is set to begin tomorrow, whereas Kovachevski will also have a working lunch with European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi, including delegations of both countries. Kovachevski will be accompanied in Brussels by First Deputy PM Artan Grubi, Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani, Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski, Culture Minister Bisera Kostadinovska-Stojchevska, Minister of Information Society and Administration Admirim Aliti and other Government officials.
