PM Kovachevski to address event marking 30th anniversary of UN Declaration on the Rights of Minorities
Skopje, 21 September 2022 (MIA) - Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski on Wednesday in New York will address the opening of the meeting marking the 30th anniversary of the Declaration on the Rights of Minorities as part of the United Nations General Assembly. Kovachevski is scheduled to deliver the address around 11 am local time (6 pm Macedonian time). Also, PM Kovachevski will deliver a lecture at the prestigious Columbia University in New York, which is to focus on "the unique model of the sustainable democracy of the Republic of North Macedonia as well as on economic integration and transformation," said the press release. The lecture is part of a series of speeches by world leaders and is expected to be attended by hundreds of professors, experts and students. "In the past couple of days, Premier Kovachevski in New York took part in the Transforming Education Summit and the opening of the 77th UN General Assembly, which saw an opening address by Secretary General António Guterres. Kovachevski alongside other Western Balkan leaders also attended a working lunch organized by the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security and European Commission Vice President Josep Borrell," the government said.
