Bogdanci, 12 June 2023 (MIA) - Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski alongside Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Kaja Shukova and Bogdanci Mayor Blazhe Shapov attended on Monday the launch of reconstruction works on the water supply system in the Municipality. Kovachevski pointed out this was an extremely important project for the municipality, providing healthy drinking water, reducing financial losses and introducing high standards for water management in Bogdanci.

"I'd like to stress that this is one of the largest infrastructure water supply projects that is fully funded with domestic, budget funds, including modern technologies in its implementation," PM Kovachevski said.

He added that in the area of environment, about 40 projects have been implemented or are being implemented, and about 10 more projects are in tender procedure for construction, reconstruction or rehabilitation of water supply and sewage networks throughout the country.

The PM noted that investments are made in sectors that have been neglected for years, including the road infrastructure, also taking a significant step forward by providing new, modern water supply networks that bring quality and clean drinking water to every home.

Environment Minister Kaja Shukova pointed out that the construction of the infrastructure in Bogdanci brings multiple benefits.

She noted that a project office is being set up for the realization of the second tranche of the loan from the European Investment Bank for water supply and drainage and wastewater treatment, whereby the funds will be available to all municipalities in the country and will be distributed according to an established methodology.

Mayor of Bogdanci Municipality, Blazhe Shapov, said the project was capital and will substantially benefit the residents of Bogdanci.
