PM Kovachevski: Army always on the frontline of assistance and support 
Skopje, 18 August 2022 (MIA) – We are proud to celebrate August 18 – Army Day, the 30-year anniversary of our Army, a pillar of security, defense, stability and trust as an equal member of one of the most powerful military and security alliances, NATO, said Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski in a greeting marking the Army’s milestone. Kovachevski, who attended the central event held at the Ilinden barracks on Thursday, thanked all Army members for their massive efforts, dedication and contribution all these years, and he announced a continuation of the Army’s modernization and the best conditions for the military and civilian personnel. "Thank you for your dedication and effort in building a stable, modern Army with high standards, equal to other powerful Alliance members, participating in numerous missions with its armies. The Army is always on the front line of help and support for us all, and we continue to modernize it for serious battle readiness, creating the most optimal conditions for the members of the military and civilian personnel. Happy Army Day!” said the PM in his Facebook post. At the formal ceremony held at the Ilinden barracks, a parade of echelons was held consisting of members of all commands and units of the army and modern tactical vehicles the Army owns, including the new armored cars that presented the achievements and preparedness of the Army members. Among the attendees were President Stevo Pendarovski, Minister of Defense Slavjanka Petrovska, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, MPs, ministers, representatives of the diplomatic corps, retired Army members and representatives of organizations that the Army cooperates with. The central celebration is one of the final events marking the 30-year milestone, which included an exhibition, an open event for the citizens, panels, sports competitions, charity events, and celebrations within the units. dk/ba/
