Makedonska Kamenica, 28 August 2024 (MIA) - The Government has adopted the amendments to the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance meaning that the alignment of the pensions will be linear not percentage-based as before, said Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on Wednesday.
He expects the Parliament to pass the law as soon as its summer recess ends, so that September pensions are higher by Mden 2,500 (EUR 40).
The PM told reporters that another increase of the same amount will follow in March 2025.
"We promised that pensions will increase by Mden 5,000 in the first year of our term and this will be realized in the space of only nine months. We will assess the state of the budget for future adjustments," said Mickoski.
