PHI: 25 new whooping cough cases, 1,074 in total

Skopje, 6 September 2024 (MIA) - Twenty-five new cases of whooping cough (pertussis) were registered between 30 August-5 September, five of whom hospitalized, shows the latest weekly report of the Public Health Institute (PHI) released on Friday.
Most of the new cases (14) were recorded in Skopje, followed by Tetovo (5), Kratovo (3), Kumanovo (2) and Kriva Palanka (1). The ages of the newly registered patients range from one month to 60 years.
Until September 5, North Macedonia has recorded a total of 1,074 whooping cough cases.
A total of 67,183 whooping cough vaccine doses have been administered from January 18 until 5 September 5.
