Skopje, 2 June 2022 (MIA) – The Strategic Dialogue will represent another step forward in the intensive and productive defense cooperation between the United State and North Macedonia, said Defense Minister Slavjanka Petrovska at a meeting with Celeste Wallander, U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs on Wednesday.
“The Strategic Dialogue gives further wind in the back of our fruitful defense cooperation. The U.S. commitment and support to North Macedonia has been continued throughout the years and is also seen today as NATO allies,” said Minister Petrovska.
She added that North Macedonia has shown its clear vision and goal when it comes to the Army development, and this commitment has been reaffirmed by allies as well, primarily the United States.
Petrovska and Wallander also discussed security developments in Europe, condemning the Russian aggression in Ukraine that has led to NATO’s increased unity.
Wallander stressed North Macedonia’s significance in the maintenance of regional peace and security, highlighting the decisions that have ensured North Macedonia’s NATO accession as the right ones at the right time, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release.
