Petrovska meets Meyer and Tarquinto: Together we are changing the face of the Army
Skopje, 3 October 2022 (MIA) – Defense Minister Slavjanka Petrovska met on Monday with Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy, Eric Meyer, and newly appointed Defense Attaché in North Macedonia, Colonel Michael Tarquinto.
Talks focused on the excellent defense cooperation between the United States and North Macedonia, strategic partners and NATO allies, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release. Petrovska thanked for the decision of U.S. support with USD 78 million for the Army modernization efforts.
“Allied support with USD 78 million will greatly support development of the capacities of the Army, its modernization and equipment, as well as the development of cyber defense. Together, we are changing the face of the Army and strengthening collective security and defense, and for that we are extremely grateful,” the minister said at the meeting.
Deputy Chief of Mission Meyer and Colonel Tarquinto said the United States remains committed to cooperation with North Macedonia, which is a dedicated NATO ally and actively contributes to security in the Euro-Atlantic area.
