Petrovska at NATO meeting of eFP contributors in Brussels
Skopje, 12 October 2022 (MIA) – NATO remains committed to its objective – deterrence and defense of every inch of allied territory, a fact that can be seen through the NATO enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) multinational battle group stationed in Latvia, agreed defense ministers of allies contributing to this group, including North Macedonia’s Slavjanka Petrovska, in Brussels on Wednesday. “Our participation in the Latvia mission demonstrates our commitment to the security and stability of the entire Euro-Atlantic area. North Macedonia currently has nine Army members deployed in Latvia and this contribution will continue in the future, in line with our capabilities and capacities,” Minister Petrovska told the meeting. She noted that North Macedonia is preparing to provide its contribution to the multinational forces in Bulgaria and Romania as proof of the country’s commitment to the defense and deterrence principle of the Alliance’s eastern flank, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release. North Macedonia’s Army is part of the eFP in Latvia within the Slovenian contingent, where Canada serves as the framework nation.
