Pendarovski: Third parties want to impose their influence through hybrid threats and political pressure
Skopje, 30 June 2022 (MIA) - President Stevo Pendarovski while attending the NATO Summit in Madrid participated Thursday in the third working session of the North Atlantic Council. The session at the level of Heads of State and Government, chaired by the NATO Secretary General, focused on the threats and challenges posed by the NATO’s southern neighborhood, Pendarovski's office said. Addressing the event, President Pendarovski said that as stated in the NATO Strategic Concept, we are facing global and mutually conditioned threats. Terrorism, the President stressed, in all its forms and phenomena is the most direct asymmetric threat to the security of our peoples, and is especially used by third parties who want to expand their presence and impose their influence through hybrid threats and political pressures. In this regard, the President stressed the need for NATO to continue with the practical support and strengthening of the capacities of the partner countries, as well as the deepening of the dialogue with the partner countries of the Alliance, with the international organizations, UN, EU, and other relevant regional forums and NGOs. During the discussion, at the meeting, the President pointed out that we need a broad consensus in order to develop a functional and predictable multilateral cooperation, which will enable peace and security in the 21st century, said the press release.
