Pendarovski: So far country hasn’t entered Bulgarian scenario
Skopje, 22 November 2021 (MIA) – President Stevo Pendarovski doesn’t think the country has entered a Bulgarian scenario. He believes political developments are still taking place within the Parliament, through a procedure, which, he adds, is good. It would be bad, he says, if they scuffle.
According to Pendarovski, the biggest misconception is that in this situation he should convene a leaders’ meeting.
The President remains of the opinion that the resignation submitted by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev is a hasty decision but, he pointed out, it’s already a done deal.
“So far, we haven’t entered and I don’t think we will enter a Bulgarian scenario, because it would mean that none of the parties can make majority and we would need to hold early elections. I think the delay is only because of Zaev's announcement that he would like to elect a party leader first to be the prime minister designate,” Pendarovski told Sitel TV.
As regards the dispute with Bulgaria, Pendarovski said we should concentrate on those who’d eventually form a new government. Radev, Pendarovski added, is currently the only functional institution and such a situation in Bulgaria may continue until December 14.
