Skopje, 8 May 2024 (MIA) - The results are clear, and I have no intention of clarifying them in detail, I want to congratulate the winners and wish them success in the next four, i.e., five years, said SDSM-backed presidential candidate Stevo Pendarovski at a press conference on Wednesday evening.

“My concept for a multiethnic Macedonia fully integrated within the Euro-Atlantic structures unfortunately did not receive support, and I am deeply convinced that only that kind of Macedonia can be successful,” Pendarovski said.

The incumbent president who was running for re-election said his “conscience is clear” but added he doesn’t believe the same is true for “the conscience of those who prevented thousands of citizens from taking the second ballot and voting at the presidential elections”, referring to the boycott of the presidential elections.

Pendarovski voiced gratitude to all participants who made it possible for the elections to be held in a democratic atmosphere, saying he would leave the relevant institutions to clear up “certain disruptions”.
