Skopje, 20 September 2023 (MIA) - In the framework of the 78th United Nations General Assebmly, President Stevo Pendarovski attended Tuesday a meeting of Western Balkans leaders hosted by Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

The meeting focused on current developments and European perspectives of the Western Balkans, reform processes, political situation and economic trends in the area amid the present geopolitical context, the President's Office said in a press release.

Discussions highlighted the necessity for swift realization of strategic decisions related to the enlargement policy and EU integration of the Western Balkans, in the interest of the region's security, stability and progress, while maintaining the Union's credibility.

Interlocutors also exchanged information on the measures and activities undertaken within EU's common foreign and security policy in response to the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, reads the press release.
