Pendarovski meets North Macedonia's Bosniak community members

Skopje, 28 September 2023 (MIA) – On the occasion of International Day of Bosniaks, Sept. 28, President Stevo Pendarovski met Thursday with prominent members of the Bosniak community in North Macedonia.

 

According to an official press releasethe President met with deputy director of the Agency for Community Rights Realization, Dzelal Hodzic, teacher and author of Bosnian language textbooks Izeta Babačić, Bosnian journalist Sanadin Voloder, Head of MEPSO Unit for system support at ICT Department Enis Drndar, virtual e-Football representative Armin Mandal and nurse and humaniarian worker Elvira Mekikj.

 

They spoke to the President about the challenges they face and the activities for implementing and promoting the rights of Bosniaks in North Macedonia in all social segments.

 

 

They also stressed their commitment to affirming and using the Bosnian language in education and public information services, as well as their fair representation in state and public institutions.

 

President Pendarovski expressed his satisfaction with the Bosniak community and their continuous and steadfast contribution in building and nurturing our multi-ethnic society, which serves as a positive example to other countries in the world.

 

Offering his best wishes on International Day of Bosniaks, Pendarovski reaffirmed his support and personal commitment to ensuring the rights of all ethnic communities, enabling equal treatment and opportunity for all individuals, which is a key prerequisite for the overall development of North Macedonia. ssh/mr
