Skopje, 7 October 2022 (MIA) – I will be the first to go out and vote at a possible referendum if the question is as follows: “Are you in favor of North Macedonia becoming a member of the European Union?”, says President Stevo Pendarovski in an interview with daily Sloboden Pechat. Earlier today, party Levica (The Left) filed the initiative to the Parliament for a mandatory nationwide referendum with the question “Are you in favor of continuation of the EU negotiations by accepting the Parliament’s conclusions of 18 July 2022?” President Pendarovski says the question is confusing and unclear. “The question that Levica wants to use in the referendum is confusing and unclear for the citizens. I have been saying this repeatedly, ever since a similar initiative was also filed by VMRO-DPMNE. I am against such questions which content is confusing,” says Pendarovski.
