Skopje, 25 June 2022 (MIA) - President Stevo Pendarovski visited volunteers and organizers of the Skopje Pride 2022,  discussing about the event’s logistics and guests reception,  institutional support, security and promotion issues, his office said in a press release. On the occasion of Skopje Pride 2022, President Pendarovski stressed that "acceptance of diversity and freedom from prejudice is an indicator of a mature, democratic and open society, which is ready to make room for each of its members." “It is our common responsibility to ensure fundamental rights and self-realization for everyone, without fear of rejection, particularly when it comes to vulnerable communities. Skopje Pride 2022 is a parade of diversity, acceptance and friendship of the LGBTIQ+ community, as well as an opportunity for all those who understand and accept diversity on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity to express their support,” the President added. He voiced expectation that the third Skopje Pride Parade will be held in a peaceful atmosphere, without incidents, in an atmosphere of tolerance and acceptance.
