Pendarovski – Fiala: Commitments for further strengthening of relations with Czech Republic on bilateral, multilateral level and economic cooperation

Skopje, 29 August 2023 (MIA) – President Stevo Pendarovski, as part of his official visit to the Czech Republic, met Tuesday with the Czech Prime Minister, Petr Fiala, during which they exchanged opinions over the overall bilateral relations between the two countries, which in the past three decades have been characterized with broad cooperation in multiple areas of mutual interest, said the President’s Office in a press release.

According to the President’s Office, Pendarovski pointed to the Czech Republic as an important partner in NATO, UN and OSCE, stressing the commitment of the Macedonian side to further strengthen its relations with the Czech Republic, both on a bilateral and multilateral level, and in the field of economic cooperation. 

“President Pendarovski voiced gratitude for the continued and principled support of the Czech Republic for the country’s EU accession process and expressed his expectation that it will continue in the future as well,” said the press release.

At the meeting, added the press release, opinions were exchanged on the overall conditions in the broader region, in the context of the war in Ukraine.
