Patients’ organizations establish national alliance 

Skopje, 6 April 2024 (MIA) - On the occasion of World Health Day, ten associations of patients signed an agreement Saturday for the establishment of a National Alliance of Patients’ Organizations.

The Alliance consists of the organizations Hepar Centar, Nefron, National Association for MS, Life with Challenges, HEMA-ONKO, Femina M, Sano, Union of Associations of Persons with Diabetes of Macedonia, Association for Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, and It’s Rare to be Rare.

By uniting in a National Alliance, the president of the Alliance, Milan Mishkovikj, said the organizations express their commitment to the protection of patients, as well as their commitment to the improvement of the health system.

Mishkovikj also stressed that cooperation between the patients’ associations and media is key for the education of the citizens regarding their rights.

“We believe that the cooperation between patients’ organizations and the media is key when it comes to informing and educating the citizens over their rights and possibilities in the field of healthcare. Based on our goal to monitor the European and global health systems and practices, we are ready to share our experiences and knowledge in order to reform and transform our health system in line with the best standards and needs of the citizens,” Mishkovikj said.

He urged all organizations and associations working in the field to join the Alliance and stand united in support of the rights of patients and work together in imporving the health system.

“The Alliance is open to all other associations of patients working in the field, so they can join and we can work together towards the improvement of the country’s health system. We invite all interest associations to join the Alliance,” Mishkovikj said.
