Skopje, 14 February 2023 (MIA) – Parliament continued Tuesday afternoon the 104th session debating on the proposal over the dismissal of Alternativa’s ministers and deputy ministers, i.e. the dismissal of the Minister of Health Bekim Sali. The debate is set to resume on Wednesday at 12 pm.
In his address, Mile Lefkov from VMRO-DPMNE said that it is a matter of dismissals that have nothing to do with the Government's programme that was proposed only one year ago, but are aimed at and related to party bargaining.
In response to Lefkov’s address, Sonja Mirakovska from NSDP told him that this is not the time for VMRO-DPMNE, but for brave politicians who make brave decisions in the interest of the citizens, adding that cabinet reshuffle is for the European future.
Ane Lashkoska from VMRO-DPMNE pointed out that even if this government is voted in, as she said, the apparent majority will not be able to enable normal functioning of the Parliament. You will see that, she added, in two to three weeks after the government is approved.
Fadil Zendeli from BESA said in his speech that BESA will remain an opposition party until the next elections are held, regardless of whether they will be early or regular.
“We appreciate that today is not the time to discuss the dismissal of ministers, but it is time of holding early elections, as the Government has failed to provide a good standard for our citizens, and there are no results in the area of the rule of law and corruption. All we have is a government that wants to survive and buy time. It is not time to have such a government, but a government with full capacity,” Zendeli said.
A series of replies from VMRO-DPMNE MPs in supporting Zendeli’s remarks followed.
Vice President of the Parliament Goran Misovski scheduled session’s continuation for Wednesday at 12 pm.
