FM Mucunski visits German state of North Rhine-Westphalia
- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski paid a working visit to the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) on Sunday and Monday. As part of the visit, Mucunski met with his host, Minister for Federal, European and International Affairs and the Media, and Head of the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia Nathanael Liminski, as well as with State Secretary Mark Speich.

Skopje, 19 May 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski paid a working visit to the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) on Sunday and Monday. As part of the visit, Mucunski met with his host, Minister for Federal, European and International Affairs and the Media, and Head of the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia Nathanael Liminski, as well as with State Secretary Mark Speich.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, the talks focused on the excellent bilateral relations and dynamic cooperation developed in recent times. Minister Mucunski noted that NRW is an exceptionally reliable partner both from a political and economic standpoint, as well as in terms of its support for the country’s European integration. Minister Mucunski expressed his gratitude for the state’s principled and continued support, as well as the personal engagement of Minister Liminski in the promotion of political, economic and institutional cooperation.
“This state is the seat of many leading German companies and the home of a sizable Macedonian diaspora – factors which further strengthen our relations. Together we voiced our beliefs that this visit opens a new chapter in our partnership, and we will continue with concrete activities for the promotion of political and economic ties,” Mucunski said after the meeting.
As part of the visit, Minister Mucunski also met with Felix Neugart, CEO of NRW.Global Business GmbH, the foreign trade promotion agency of the state of NRW. Talks focused on the opportunities for further intensification of trade cooperation, the realization of new investments in strategic sectors, as well as the enhancement of partnerships in areas such as energy, tourism, advanced technologies and digitization.
“The meeting assessed the benefits our country provides to foreign investors, as well as the Government’s readiness to be an active and secure partner in the realization of their projects. Interlocutors agreed that there exists a real potential for the promotion of trade and economic cooperation in the coming period,” the Ministry said.
In NRW, Minister Mucunski also visited the Macedonian community in the city of Solingen, where he met with members of the diaspora.
