Parliament verifies resignations of Bislimoski and Ristovska

Skopje, 18 February 2026 (MIA) - Parliament verified Wednesday the resignations of the head of the Energy Regulatory Commission Marko Bislimoski and the member of the State Commission of the Prevention of Corruption and Conflict of Interest Cveta Ristovska.

The agenda of Wednesday’s session also includes electing a new constitutional judge. As part of the session, the Prime Minister and ministers will answer opposition MPs’ questions for two hours.

ERC head Marko Bislimovski submitted his resignation to Parliament on February 12, 2026, requesting the legislative house to formally accept the conclusion of his tenure, without elaborating on the reasons for his request.

Bislimovski's term, who helms the ERC for the second time, expires in June 2028. The Financial Police Office filed criminal charges against Bislimoski late last month on suspicion of abuse of office and authority.

Anti-corruption commission member Ristovska sent a letter to Parliament on February 13, stating that after weeks of public controversy and doubts raised regarding her work, she has decided to submit an irrevocable resignation from her post as a member of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption and Conflict of Interest.

Ristovska's resignation comes after some media outlets reported last week that the anti-corruption commission has opened two cases against her, related to inaccurate asset declaration and a potential conflict of interest.
