Skopje, 12 September 2025 (MIA) - The Parliament is set to hold a plenary session on Friday, with the draft declaration on fair, free, and democratic elections on the agenda among other. The declaration was put forward by Speaker Afrim Gashi and the coordinators of all parliamentary groups.
The draft declaration states that ahead of the elections scheduled for October 19, the Parliament demonstrates its impartial agreement for the holding of fair, free and democratic elections.
It notes that the Parliament upholds steadfast regard for constitutional law, for citizens to exercise their right to vote directly, in free elections by secret ballot, and most strongly condemns family and group voting, as an opportunity to manipulate citizens' votes and influence election results.
In addition to the declaration, MP questions are also on the agenda of the Parliament's 68th session on Friday. The Parliament has asked ministers to attend the Q&A session of Parliament so they can provide answers. Speaker Gashi told a press briefing this week that he has discussed the issue with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski as well.
Several other bills are also on the agenda of Friday's session, including a draft law amending the law on the use of sign language, a draft law amending the law on social security for seniors, a draft law amending the law on organizations of persons with disabilities, a draft law amending the law on the rights of war invalids, members of their families and members of the families of fallen soldiers, a draft law amending the law on family, all in second reading, as well as a draft law amending the law on road traffic safety and a draft law amending the law on traffic violations, among other.
