Skopje, 16 February 2023 (MIA) - Our goal is to stabilize the parliamentary majority, to strengthen the government so that this year we can conduct reforms, to stabilize the state from the crises that have lasted for three years, the health, energy and economic ones, but also providing a bloc for European Macedonia that will bring the necessary reforms, complete the screening, make room for the next phase of negotiations and create conditions for a two-thirds majority to adopt necessary constitutional amendments, Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj told Telma TV’s Win-Win show late Thursday.
Referring to increasing the parliamentary majority, Marichikj said that this is being done in order to strengthen the European front, adding that the blockades of VMRO-DPMNE are nothing new and have been going on for three years.
Regarding the French proposal, Marichikj stated that this proposal is not ideal, but it gives us a chance in many points to be on a equal and reciprocal basis with Bulgaria and to act reciprocally.
“I consider the historical commission is a great advantage for us because is consisted of experts to whom the politicians cannot dictate and they have never dictated what to say,” Marichikj said.
According to him, the politicians from the Bulgarian side, and ours are correct as much as possible, especially the state and government officials, we have not been the cause of provocation so far.
“What, unfortunately, in my opinion is a major mistake on the part of Bulgaria, is Petkov's attending the opening of “Vancho Mihajlov” club in Bitola. That was the turning point that took things in a wrong direction. I think that until then we had serious results, which changed the perception of Bulgaria in North Macedonia and vice versa and brought the peoples and governments closer together so that they could solve problems that are of vital importance,” Marichikj said.
