Osmani-Byrnes: North Macedonia and US enjoy strong and friendly bilateral ties
Skopje, 12 August 2021 (MIA) – Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani met Thursday with the US Ambassador to North Macedonia Kate Marie Byrnes and briefed her about latest political developments involving activities related to country’s European perspective in the coming period.
“They assessed that the bilateral relations between two countries are very strong and friendly, based on the strategic partnership and NATO membership. They expressed mutual interest for maintaining continuous political dialogue and further development of the overall cooperation,” Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the continuous support that the United States provides to the Republic of North Macedonia aimed at achieving its strategic foreign policy goals. Osmani underscored the important role of the United States in achieving long-term stability, further democratization and prosperity in the region,” reads the press release.
Moreover, FM Osmani thanked US Ambassador Byrnes for the US assistance in the fight against COVID-19 and for extinguishing the forest fires in North Macedonia.
