Osmani - Rinkēvičs: North Macedonia remains committed to reform agenda for smooth flow of EU accession negotiations
Skopje, 21 September 2022 (MIA) – Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani held a meeting with Latvian counterpart Edgars Rinkēvičs on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.  Talks focused on the future of the European Union’s enlargement process in light of the accession negotiations with North Macedonia.   “Extending gratitude for Latvia’s principled support on the country’s European integration path, Minister Osmani said North Macedonia remains committed to the reform agenda for the smooth flow of accession negotiations with the European Union,” the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.   Osmani and Rinkēvičs, adds the press release, exchanged views on deepening partnership relations within NATO, particularly in terms of the consequences on Europe caused by the Russian aggression against Ukraine, as well as the role of Baltic countries in strengthening this part of the Alliance.   In addition, interlocutors exchanged views on the upcoming North Macedonia’s 2023 OSCE Chairpersonship, as well as current issues in foreign and security policy, reads the press release.
