Osmani meets with Deputy Chief Negotiator with EU Abdiu-Halili

Skopje, 13 March 2024 (MIA) — Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani met Wednesday with Deputy Chief Negotiator with the European Union snd State Secretary at the Secretariat for European Affairs Drita Abdiu-Halili to discuss the latest decisions in Brussels pertaining to North Macedonia's greater EU integration even before joining the bloc.

According to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs press release, FM Osmani welcomed the European Parliament and the Council of the EU's support for the Reform and Growth Facility for the Western Balkans.

MEPs had adopted their position on the Reform and Growth Facility for the Western Balkans with almost unanimous support, the release says, adding that this showed their clear commitment to enlargement and to reform processes that would strengthen EU values in the region, focusing on transparency, the rule of law and economic integration.

It is expected that required procedures will be complete by the end of April so that regional countries can access the new facility allocating up to six billion euros for speeding up reforms. mr/
