Osmani meets Reeker in New York
Skopje, 21 September 2022 (MIA) – Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani met with US Senior Advisor for the Caucasus Negotiations and North Macedonia’s longtime friend Philip Reeker on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Talks focused on North Macedonia’s forthcoming 2023 OSCE Chairpersonship, particularly priorities, challenges and future activities in this context.
Osmani and Reeker reaffirmed the strong alliance between North Macedonia and the United States, with particular emphasis on the recently held strategic dialogue between the two countries, as a significant turning point in overall bilateral relations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
“Interlocutors also discussed about the recent start of North Macedonia's accession negotiations with the European Union, with Osmani expressing gratitude for the strong support from the United States for the country’s European integration process. At the same time, the continued US engagement in the Western Balkans was welcomed as a significant guarantee for the stability and progress of the entire region, which is particularly important in the context of current security challenges, reads the press release.
