Osmani meets Cavusoglu at UNGA sidelines
Skopje, 23 September 2022 (MIA) – Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani met with Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavuglu at the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on Friday, discussing the Russian invasion in Ukraine and its effects in Europe, as well as the efforts of North Macedonia and Turkey in the management of the crisis. FM Osmani welcomed the mediation of Ankara and the United Nations in the agreement that enabled the export of Ukrainian wheat to global markets, which was blocked since the start of the Russian invasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release. Osmani and Cavusoglu referred to regional cooperation and the Euro-Atlantic perspective of the countries in the area, including North Macedonia’s EU accession negotiations. Interlocutors exchanged opinions on bilateral relations, political and economic dialogue, in light of the 30th anniversary of bilateral ties. In addition, the two FMs discussed North Macedonia’s OSCE Chairmanship in 2023 and the country’s priorities in this regard, reads the press release.
