Skopje, 25 November 2023 (MIA) - If the arrival of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is confirmed, it will not be a bilateral visit to North Macedonia but one to an OSCE host-country, said Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani on Saturday.

FM Osmani, who is also the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, was quizzed regarding the position of Defense Minister Slavjanka Petrovska that the Russian FM should not come to Skopje.

"In national terms, we have the same position with the Defense Minister, but in this case I am serving as OSCE CiO and therefore my stance is different," said Osmani and added that the arrival of the Russian delegation is still in the works, through Bulgaria and Greece's airspace.

On Kyiv's position's, the FM said everyone should rise above their national stance and protect OSCE.

"It is now important to ensure that OSCE is alive and well after the Ministerial Council in Skopje and we are doing everything to assure everyone it is now about the organization and its future. I expect everyone to rise above the national position and protect the organization, which is of enormous importance," underlined Osmani.
