Osmani: Fact that OSCE was saved in Skopje a huge accomplishment for country's diplomacy

Skopje, 18 December 2023 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani says the fact that the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) was saved in Skopje is a huge accomplishment for the country's diplomacy.

"OSCE could have collapsed during our chairpersonship. Imagine the historical legacy we will have left behind. Due to all the requirements, one week before the Ministerial Council in Skopje, everyone was convinced that this would be the end of OSCE. All of this resulted from the successful management of the 57 participating countries, with Russia, Ukraine, the United States, NATO and EU states agreeing on four candidates and one chair country. This was unimaginable a few weeks before the Ministerial Council," says FM Osmani in an interview with Sloboden Pechat.

He stresses that the OSCE Ministerial Council in Skopje is an important acknowledgment both for our diplomacy and citizens, a proof of the country's capacities.

"We lack opportunity - exposure, an opportunity to prove ourselves. The system in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for which I had certain doubts about its quality, ability, willingness... turned out to be flawless. It turns out that we do not lack capacity, but opportunity to prove ourselves," notes Osmani.
