Osmani: Euro-Atlantic commitment – source and guarantee of safety and security
Skopje, 18 February 2022 (MIA) – Delegations of North Macedonia and Bulgaria met Friday at the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, expressing satisfaction from the process of intensification of bilateral cooperation through the concept of working groups and specific activities arising as a result, says Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani.
“On the set of political issues, delegations welcomed the work of the expert groups comprised of representatives of the countries’ ministries of foreign affairs. Direct communication and sectoral cooperation is an effective method that will be used further, for the purpose of enhancing relations and raising the level of the political dialogue,” FM Osmani wrote in a Facebook post.
On the coming meeting of the Joint Interdisciplinary Commission of Experts on Historical and Educational Issues on February 24-25 in Sofia, interlocutors expressed hope it will continue to operate amid a constructive environment and demonstrate openness and good will for progress.
“Bilateral trade exchange in 2021 reached almost US$ 900 million, a 32-percent rise, eclipsing pre-pandemic levels. Security developments in the Western Balkans and Europe were also tackled and we agreed that the Euro-Atlantic commitment is the source and guarantee of security and safety,’ says Osmani.
