Skopje, 9 December 2023 (MIA) — DUI spokesman and Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani said Saturday that the political party's next goal was to have a DUI member be elected President of North Macedonia.

"Talat Xhaferi will be the first Albanian prime minister," Osmani said addressing a party event in Chair.

He said naming an ethnic Albanian prime minister for the first time was "part of breaking up the ethnic monopoly" and would pave the way for electing an ethnic Albanian PM for the second time when this "will no longer be an issue."

"And the last post where there is an ethnic monopoly is the head of the state, but that is DUI's next mission," Osmani said.

"This is Ali Ahmeti's vision and mission," he said, adding that the DUI leader was "creating the mosaic of his vision term after term, chapter by chapter." mr/
