Osmani attends Yaoundé Cameroon 2023 Francophonie Ministerial Conference

Skopje, 4 November 2023 (MIA) — Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani is attending the two-day Francophonie Ministerial Conference held in Yaoundé, Cameroon, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.

 

Osmani is set to address a closed-door session for full member countries and governments of the Francophonie International Organization on the topic of declining democracy in Francophonie countries as well as a depate on good governance as a guarantee of political, economic and cultural stability.

 

Osmani is also scheduled to hold a series of bilateral meetings, including with the foreign ministers of France, Switzerland, Andorra, and Luxembourg.

 

Expected to gather some 400 delegates, the Ministerial Conference is one of the three bodies enshrined in the Francophonie Charter, alongside the Summit and the Permanent Council.

 

This is the first time that Cameroon has hosted the event.

 

The Republic of North Macedonia has been a full member of the organization since 2006. mr/
