Osmani attends CEI foreign ministerial meeting
Skopje, 23 September 2022 (MIA) — Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani participated in an informal meeting of foreign ministers of the Central European Initiative, which was held on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release, the meeting focused on the Russian war in Ukraine and how the CEI could help Ukraine. Participants discussed the energy crisis and disrupted supply chains resulting from the war in Ukraine, as well.
Minister Osmani asked that the Western Balkans be included into the European Union’s joint mechanisms for dealing with the economic, financial and energy consequences of the war in Ukraine.
He also welcomed the decisions of the governments of Bulgaria and Greece to help North Macedonia amid the energy crisis.
In addition, the release says, Osmani said EU enlargement should be viewed as seen as "the most appropriate investment into the security of the Union itself and the European continent as a whole.” mr/
