Osmani attends 2022 Vilnius Forum
Skopje, 10 November 2022 (MIA) - As part of his Baltic tour, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani took part in the second high-level Future of Democracy Forum in Vilnius at the invitation of Lithuanian counterpart Gabrielius Landsbergis. Osmani delivered remarks on Wednesday at the panel on how to restore the crumbling global security architecture, moderated by Minister Landsbergis, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release on Thursday. Referring to the topic, Osmani underlined that the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as an obvious violation of international law, openly challenges the very concept of multilateralism as the basis of the security architecture. “Euro-Atlantic integration is the best tool for preventing conflicts and malicious influence from third parties as a successful security policy, symbolized by the historical success of NATO's open door policy and EU enlargement policy,” Osmani said. The 2022 Future of Democracy Forum, is held for the second time in Vilnius as a preparation for the 2023 Democracy Summit, organised by US President Joe Biden.
