Skopje, 28 August 2022 (MIA) — The Agency for the Promotion and Support of Tourism director Ljupcho Janevski said the Open Balkans Wine Fair in Belgrade was an excellent opportunity to send the message of unity, readiness for joint cooperation and making wise decisions. He also said the Open Balkans initiative had great tourist potential and could significantly increase the number of regional guests.
Speaking ahead of the fair, Janevski told MIA that 333 wineries from the region, Europe and the world would be participating in the event.
“I expect the Wine Fair to send the message that the Balkans are united. Let's learn from the past and make wise decisions. Let's work and create bridges, not obstacles,” Janevski said.
The Macedonian pavilion will also present Macedonian folklore, pearl and filigree making. Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski will host a Macedonian evening, with 500 guests expected to attend.
On Friday, Prime Minister Kovachevski announced that 42 Macedonian wineries and three distilleries would participate in the Open Balkans Wine Fair to be held on Sept. 1–4 in Belgrade. Participating in the fair, he said, would improve export and find new markets for Macedonian wine. mr/
